Marcia J. Harr Bailey, Ph.D. President We Are One Foundation Founder / Executive Director, Poom Loom
Marcia Harr Bailey has nine years of experience working in Southeast Asian communities performing research on education, development, and community service. In 2009, she served as a Fulbright grantee to Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR/Laos). As an educator, an educational researcher, and a consultant, Marcia has a passion for education and youth volunteers leading change to address social and economic needs. She serves as the President of the We Are One Foundation. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Poom Loom, a project of the We Are One Foundation, which uses a unique postsecondary service-learning model in the Lao context called EducAsianal Community Engagement that serves as a grassroots development movement. The program educates, engages, equips, and empowers youth volunteers while promoting progress in rural villages in the country of Laos. Poom Loom’s EducAsianal Community Engagement model is currently expanding into a unique college that will train youth in sustainable development through mobile classrooms that travel and serve in rural villages. Our pilot program will begin in 2013.
Rose Lee
Founder/Director/Senior Advisor - We Are One Foundation
Rose Lee is currently teaching in Thailand. In addition she has lived and worked in New York, St. Louis, Chicago, Los Angeles and Las Vegas where her educational background has served a diverse client base for more than 15 years. Ms. Lee also has over 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations and working with nonprofit organizations. She has provided development and production of major city and nationwide events from concept to delivery for corporations as well as fundraisers for high profile charities. She produced successful philanthropic events for Frank Sinatra, Julio Iglesias, Sammy Davis Jr. and many others. She founded two children’s charities as well as the 501c3 We Are One Foundation.For over ten years Rose Lee has worked in the entertainment industry representing actors (most notable Halle Berry), writers and director interfacing with agents, publicists, business managers, and producers. She was involved in the development and procurement of scripts for feature films, television pilots/series and movies of the week, resulting in Oscar and Emmy Awards. Just a few of her many awards include: Woman of the Year, Governors Award for Excellence in Civic Contribution, Rotarian of the Year, and Woman of Achievement.
